Apple Cider Vinegar for Overall Pet Health

French translation

I have been using vinegar for a about a year now.
I have just started to use it for my pets.

I was reluctant to due to the taste. I was pleasantly surprised that they all love it.

I put just a few drops in their water to introduce it to them. They drank it like normal. So I added it to their food after a few days. My dog (mini-schnauzer) just loves it. My cat and kitten did not love it but they ate their food.

I am anxious to see if it works for the fleas and ticks. I am going to continue to feed it to them everyday. I worry about the Frontline that I have been using on them. I am sure the chemicals in it is harmful, but it is expensive too. When you have 3 pets it can add up quickly.

Luci our dog, usually when let out of her bed in the morning, will go out side and make her way over to her breakfast after about 10 minutes or so. She now goes right to her food dish and gobbles up her food first thing LOL!

Does anyone know if it works for heartworm?

ACV
by: Anonymous

I sprayed my dog with ACV and she stopped scratching about 5 minutes after I applied it.

I brushed her really well after I sprayed her, which spread the formula inside her hard to reach places.

I will keep an eye on her to make sure she receives it well. Right now, she is eating her kibbles, so it seems to be tolerable and working well.

Thank you for the suggestion. It's far less than flea spray and the odor goes away relatively quickly.

Use of apple cider vinegar to remove odor from dog
by: xscape78

(Translated from French)

I would like to ask a question.

When you apply ACV as a rince formula to a mid-size dog, should the apple cider vinegar be diluted with water, and if so, what is the ratio?

Also, should the dog have a real dog shampoo first?

An answer would be very appreciated.

My multicolour cocker smells real bad, poor darling. And, he always wants to demonstrate his affection and climb onto my lap…

Thanks in advance to the person who will take the time to answer me and address my concerns.

Thank you, Judy and Apple Annie for your suggestions :)

I live in central KY. The fleas and ticks are very bad here. I still give my pets ACV for their health. They are seniors now and doing very well :)

Vinegar for Dogs
by: Apple Annie

I have been giving apple cider vinegar to my Miniature Schnauzer. I have no longer seen a flea on her.

Apple Cider vinegar helps to balance the alkali in the body. This in turn aids the immune system. I understand that fleas and parasites thrive better in a more acid environment. Too much acid is bad for the immune system.

Apple cider vinegar will possibly help prevent, kill, or hinder the development of heartworms. I found very interesting and encouraging information about heartworms at www.danebytes.com/heartworm.htm.

re. Apple Cider Vinegar for Overall Pet Health

Dear Friend, you asked about natural remedy for heartworm.

Food grade diatomaceous earth kills heartworm. Check the pet testimonials on Earthworks Health site. Many online companies sell it.

It helps many kinds of health conditions, both human and animal. Is nontoxic and apparently is more effective than vets' medications.

Wish we'd known about it for our dog. Thank you for your posting, and everyone else who posted, also.
