My LassoPoo's ears and ACV

French translation

Well I thought I would just share my experience.

I came home the other day from visiting with my dog and he started scratching his ear a bit.
By the next morning, he was whimpering a bit and scratching more.

I suspected and ear infection. He had had one maybe 2 or 3 months ago. A friend of mine was watching him while I was on vacation. She took him to get looked at and they put him on some ear drops that he was allergic to, so she had to take him back and get new drops which finally relieved the problem about $200 later.

It was Sunday and my vet wasn't open. Dreading spending yet another $200 so soon after his first ear infection, I decided to try looking for some home remedies.

I first tried 1 part water, 1 part hydrogen peroxide, and 1 part vinegar. He did not like this at all and it seemed to make him whimper more.

I was all set to take him to an emergency vet right then and there when I decided that I would try Apple Cider Vinegar mixed equally with water.
He was still scratching a bit but he seemed to be whimpering less.

I figured I would see how it went for the day and then I could call my vet in the morning.

Well the next morning he was still scratching but was not whimpering anymore. He even brought me over a toy to play with him at night.

I decided to try for another day, putting in a few drops of the solution in each of his ears and then rubbing them. I did this 3 times a day.

Well this morning, not a whimper, not even a scratch the whole time I was getting ready for work!
I figured I would monitor him tonight when I get home for a longer period of time, but at the moment this really seems to be working very well on the 3rd day.

I plan on treating him again tonight and possibly continuing with one treatment a day until the end of the week.

I plan on using ACV once a week now to prevent his ear infections from coming back.

This was a really great find for my Mr. Cuddles.

Update on Mr. Cuddles
by: Lauren B

Just wanted to say that after 6 days of using the apple cider vinegar, Cuddles seems to be cured.

He hasn't scratched his ears all week.
