First time ACV user!!

French translation

I am 15, and 5'4". In august of 2008 I weighed 115, and now, may of 2009, I weigh 122.

I guess 7 pounds in 9 months really isn't that bad but I would love to go back to the 115 I was before.

Also, in July I'm having a huge sweet sixteen, and I would love to look slimmer.

I took two teaspoons of acv this morning before breakfast, and it really does make you seem full. It was my first time trying it.

I really hope to reach my goal weight by my birthday, it would be a dream come true.

I also wanted to know if the brand mattered because I use the Kroger brand which is all I have at home. It has 5% acidity.

I would love support and comments!
Thanks!
Mary.

First week
by: t

I have been using ACV for one week and have lost 7lbs. Need to lose 100 so this is a good start. I use malt vinegar which has a richer flavor and I don't mind the taste

I've been using this ACV for a few days now along with ACAI berry pills. I don't know whats causing it if its one or another but I feel less hungry ALL DAY and I seem to have more energy.

New way
by: Mary

Okay so I tried the idea of putting the acv in a drink and it works.

I made a fruit smoothie and I put two spoonfuls of acv in it.

You can't completely taste it, but you know its there. Its a lot better than taking it straight. :)

Sorry to hear about your stomach problems with ACV.
You might be allergic to ACV (or be borderline).

I know of people who had difficulties getting used to ACV because of the taste. Trying to swallow something that we really, really don't like, can easily upset our stomach (talking from personal experience…). Anyways, it this were your case, here is what I did.

How I overcame my “yerking/heaving” was to take my ACV with fruit juice.
My favorite “cocktail” was to mix my 2 teaspoons of ACV with 1/3 cup cranberry juice, 1/3 cup orange juice, and 1/3 cup grapefruit.
In this mix, I did not taste the ACV, in fact, I did taste a little something but it was a PLUS, a better drink (!)

That was my two cents.
Good luck!

No more acv for me.
by: Mary

I discontinued my intake of acv after about three days. I have a weak stomach and acv always made my stomach very upset. I actually threw up numerous times. I realized it isnt worth it if those are the side effects so I just stopped

Answering Britt
by: Rejane

(Translated from French)

Hello, Britt

Just a word to say that I have been using ACV for a number of years now.

It is true that ACV works as you say: we feel full with less food.
But it is ALSO VERY true/real that ACV acts as an appetite suppressor BEFORE meals (when taken regularly): I am a lot less hungry than before come dinner time.
And because ACV acts as an appetite suppressor it also helps suppress cravings between meals .

So I don’t feel as hungry when I am about to START my meal. As a result, I eat slower: I no longer have the tendency to “wolf down” my food; I simply “eat” and I stop when I feel full - whether my plate is empty or not. (I indeed feel full with less food than before)

Since I don’t feel hungry between meals, it is easier to avoid munching here and there. Hence, I also benefit from not snacking between meals.

I Think
by: Britt

I haven't used ACV for weight loss but I have been looking into it and I plan to. I don't believe the ACV is going to make you feel full but it is supposed to make you want to eat less. In other words, you should feel satisfied with less food (at least that is my understanding).

From what I read brand doesn't matter but you want
"Apple cider vinegar made from the double fermentation of whole apples should be used, and it should not be distilled, filtered or pasteurized as these extra processing steps destroy many of the vitamins, nutrients and fermentation products that are thought to be important elements in apple cider vinegar's health benefits and weight loss properties."
At Krogers I think you can find this kind in the section with all their Vegan and Organic foods. I plan to go get some so I will post the brand later today. Good Luck!!!!
